SFI Norman's PhD program

Through our PhD projects we aim to educate world leading and cross-disciplinary experts for the manufacturing industry within subjects like: Manufacturing systems engineering, product development, innovation management, decision support systems, organization, optimization and operations management. You will have the possibility to work in and use the SFI industrial partners as living labs for testing and experimentation of research theories and results.

SINTEF is the host institute. NTNU and SINTEF Raufoss manufacturing are research partners. Host departments at NTNU will be Department of Production and Quality Engineering, Department of Engineering Design and Materials and Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management.

The Industrial Hub is located in Raufoss managed by SINTEF Raufoss Manufacturing AS. The Hub will coordinate all industrial activities and projects in the SFI Norman and is closely connected to Norwegian Centre of Expertise (NCE) for light weight materials and automation managed by SINTEF Raufoss Manufacturing  on behalf of several industrial partners and members.
